① Evaluate sun protection: Polyester is the best, composites are second, and ice silk is the worst. Polyester is the primary material for sun-resistant fishing clothing on the market due to its excellent sun protection. Despite its low cost and commonness, polyester offers excellent sun protection. However, polyester's moisture vapor dissipation is poor, resulting in poor breathability. To improve this, polyester fabrics in fishing clothing are often designed with a mesh structure to increase breathability.
② Consider breathability: Composites are the best, ice silk is second, and polyester is the worst. Composites are made of two layers: the outer layer is typically a large mesh polyester fabric with sun protection, and the inner layer is a moisture-wicking material. Carefully review the descriptions of the fabric and lining before purchasing to verify authenticity. Counterfeit products may be misleading in their descriptions, so be cautious when purchasing. It's worth noting that while polyester itself lacks breathability, blending it with bamboo charcoal fiber can create highly breathable fabrics. For example, bamboo charcoal fabric combines the breathability, moisture-wicking, antibacterial, and deodorizing properties of bamboo charcoal with the sun protection of polyester. It also has a soft feel and, while slightly more expensive, is a worthwhile choice.
③ Comfort Ranking: Ice silk ranks highest, followed by composite materials, and polyester ranks lowest. Comfort is a crucial factor in choosing clothing. Personally, I find ice silk fishing clothing to be the most comfortable. Ice silk is an ecological fiber that combines the advantages of cotton and silk. It's lightweight, breathable, stretchy, and soft to the touch. It also offers decent sun protection and a slightly cool feel, making it very comfortable. However, ice silk is prone to fraying and difficult to repair, making it less suitable for outdoor fishing. Anglers who enjoy fishing in black pits can choose this material, but be careful to avoid hook snags.
④ Mosquito Repellent: Fishing clothing with mosquito repellent features on the market typically incorporates mosquito repellent into the polyester fabric, without any other special features. This type of clothing is more suitable for night anglers, while daytime anglers don't necessarily need this feature.
⑤ Color Selection: Red > Black > Light Colors > White > Yellow. This color selection is scientifically based. Dark colors offer more effective sun protection than light colors, especially red and black. Although black absorbs heat, red is an ideal choice due to its superior sun protection. Yellow comes last because it attracts insects.
